There are trying times during sales; no two days would be same. On occasions or more often than not the sales can be up and running, or down and out. The challenge is how to continue staying at a peak of any situation it may come. There is learning from both good and bad days in sales. You would learn your lesson or know what you did good or not so good is when you stay balanced in peaks of any situation.
Keeping a check on your emotions. Learn how to cope and manage different emotions. Look within and without that helped or not so much, reflect but trade of the secret is to stay at bay, getting to close to acknowledging emotions could lead you to embracing them and eventually before you realise you feel submerged in that ocean of momentarily swing of emotions. It is neither way good when the success or failure goes to head. Too much success would take your strength away to create sales as you stop giving your very best to make it a mass sale then making every sale an individual. Before you realise your head would be in your hand and your brain would be jammed, your ability to think through would be captivated and your motivation would drown in the ocean of temporary emotions.
Play around new tactics/strategies. With the relaxed mind you could think how to pursue clients better. As no two people is same, there would never be one key to all the doors. But the secret of master key is that it is not an impression from any one lock. Same way, a sales person should not be an mp3 player instead think each customer as his only prospect (but not the last). Be more aware of the process rather than the outcome. Don't take any emotional impressions from the success or failure as its impact would be an upheaval in contrasting situations.
Stay aware and review the process. Performing your best shot is more essential as this forms a learning platform to avoid future mistakes. If you are not improving with every approach then reflect on your then present state emotions. Being captivated by inflow and outflow of emotions impede the mind from triggering a right response.
Finally, success depends on the state of mind, so does the barometer of your next venture's success and failure depends on the state of your mind! So keep your chin up as you can create success with controlled state of mind.
